Advanced Training for Developmental Coaches - Beginning October 7, 2002 and continuing with 20 1-hr teleclasses taught over 5 month period, this training introduce experienced coaches to CDREM, a proven methodology for developing coaching plans for high and middle-level executives and managers systematically, from assessment data. Instruction is focused on semi-structured interviewing that produces scores for a clientÕs level of self awareness (leadership) and grasp of complexity (systems thinking); it also comprises scoring and interpreting a workplace and culture climate questionnaire that situates the client in the organizational environment. Both assessments together are used to develop coaching plans customized to a particular client (individual or team); coaching effectiveness can be assessed through a CDREM follow-up a year later. Aside from coaching, CDREM is also applicable to hiring selection, outsourcing, succession planning, performance management, and team building.CDREM assessment is predictive. Coaches learn to assess not only their clientsÕ present performance, but their clientsÕ present potential for growing into broader responsibilities and leadership tasks. Assessment comprises: (1) developmental level and grasp of complexity; (2) self conduct, task approach, and interpersonal perspective (emotional intelligence); and (3) experience of workplace cultural climate. Coaches will learn how to integrate CDREM data with more conventional information such as MBTI and 360 surveys.
The course trains a coaching elite that acquires a special market niche. Pre-certification requires successful scoring of two interviews and a questionnaire. Full certification (which makes coaches eligible for licensing) in addition requires an independent case study with a client of the participantÕs choice, including writing an assessment report. Licensees have the right to use CDREM independently and for profit, upon payment of a bi-annual fee. They are also eligible for contributing to assignments carried out by Laske and Associates LLC.
Regular registration up to October 7 is $2,000 (payable in two installments if desired), early birds registering by September 30, 2002, pay $1,900. Two hours of homework is typically required between sessions. Pre-registration is free. Full CDREM certification costs $1,000, and makes participants eligible for a license.
