TOPICS Compass Now Available at No Cost to Coaching School Participants Compass Now Available at No Cost to Coaching School Participants We would like to offer students in all coach training program free access to our print publication: Compass: A Magazine for Peer Assistance, Mentorship and Coaching. You may already know that this professional periodical is the only one of its kind with a focus on coaching. Normally this magazine is only available to members of the Peer Resources Network. Non-members typically have to pay a fee of $15.00 to receive an individual issue of this magazine. For a limited time we are making all issues of the magazine available via our website. Your students can access a special password protected area and download a full copy of each issue of the magazine for viewing. Why are we making this subscription-based publication available at no cost to non-members? We want to contribute to the professional training you currently offer students. Your training organization is listed on our web site and we provide an objective, unbiased and free service to assist potential students to make the best choice to achieve their coach training goals. Some of your students may have selected your organization as a result of information on our site or a discussion with one of our placement coaches. We also hope that coaches who are involved in your training program will want to continue their professional education and career development and add membership in our organization as one of many ways to demonstrate a commitment to the profession of coaching. Finally the type of articles we include in our magazine highlight current issues and identify key trends in the coaching field. By reading the articles, we hope that your students will recognize the quality of information we provide and want to access the our other time-saving resources and practice-improving services. As a non-profit, non-commercial organization, the success of our work is based, in part, on attracting memberships. We hope your students will become members. To access the free issues of Compass, students can go to www.peer.ca/coaching.html and select "Access" in the box labelled "Special Offer for Coaching School Participants." When requested for a userid and password, enter the word: "..." in the userid or username line and the word: "..." (again, without the quotes) in the password area. (Note the userid and password information are not available to readers of this past issue of The Coaching News unless you can verify your current participation in a coaching school listed on our website.) The files are about 4mb and may take a few minutes to download if not using a high-speed connection. The file is a portable document file (PDF) and requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print.
